ACT College began in 1983 as Computer-Ease, a technology/business training school.
In 1992, the name changed to Applied Career Training as the institution changed its focus to exclusively providing programs in Allied Health education.
In 1998, ACT College opened a second campus located at 6118 Franconia Road in Alexandria, Virginia. This campus is approximately one-mile from the Franconia-Springfield Metro station.[1]
In 2003, ACT College opened a third campus located at 8870 Rixlew Lane in Manassas, Virginia. This campus is next to Stonewall Jackson High School approximately one-mile from the Manassas Mall.
In 2004, the institution underwent another name change to ACT College to reflect its expansion into Associates Degree programs and continuing education courses.
In May 2010, ACT College moved the school’s Main Campus in Arlington, Virginia. Formerly located in the twin towers building at 1100 Wilson Blvd., the main campus now occupies the entire first floor of 1400 Key Blvd. This location is near the Rosslyn metro station.[2]

All of ACT College's allied health programs are accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES). [8]
The Medical Radiography program is accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT). [9]
All of ACT College's allied health programs are approved by the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV). [10]
